In any event, there are things you can do to solve or at least minimize the effects toxic mold and allergenic mold in your home has on you and your family.

1st - Control the sources of water into your home by way of proper plumbing maintenance, and control humidity in the bathrooms and kitchens by always using ventilation fans. Without water, toxic mold can't grow, neither can allergenic mold.

2nd - Maintain a clean home. Vacuum your carpets a minimum of three times per week and have them professionally cleaned at least once or twice per year, depending on "foot-traffic" and the local environment. Without organic/cellulosic materials, toxic mold and allergenic mold has nothing to feed on.

3rd - Change your air filters regularly and have your air ducts cleaned at least once per year. The cleaner the filters, the more efficient they are at filtering out allergenic toxic mold spores.

4th - When cleaning areas smaller than 10 square feet of allergenic or suspected toxic mold, use a mild detergent solution, followed by a 1 part chlorine bleach 9 parts water solution wipe down. Note: Always follow label directions EXACTLY as they are written.
